So it's the holiday season and all through the house are people wrapping technology... cameras, ipods, blackberrys, PCs, TVs, Microwaves, Roombas, and all.
Soon dads and moms and kids everywhere will be trying to figure out how to set dates; turn on features; turn off features; set defaults; and generally try to make the new toys useful.
Technology is still too hard to use. From BSODs to hard drives that fail technology still has a long way to go before everyone can make easy use of it. My mother (at 92) can't send an email. Can yours? But even people who use sophisticated devices every day find them troublesome. For a week I've been battling Microsoft Outlook. Today AVG anti-virus crashed.
I'm looking for the next few years to show big improvements in how easy it is to use devices.
What about you? What do you think?
